Dhana (Danu), Celtic Mother Goddess

45.00

The Goddess Dhana, or Danu, is the Celtic Mother Goddess, the archetypal representation of the Great Mother in the Celtic lands. She is known as the mother of the Tuatha dé Danaan, the tribes of people of Danu. In mythology, these peoples vanished into the inner worlds when Ireland was invaded. Her people became part of the tribes from the stars, known as the Sidh. Rivers are associated with her, and represent the fertility and abundance in a land. There is a suggestion that Danu might have had dual characteristics, one being the beneficent, nurturing mother goddess, and another being the strong, protective warrior goddess. Her aspects are art, skill, poetry, knowledge, and wisdom.
